That’s right – by using the Midsummer Fire Festival as an excuse to finish up my last three remaining un-fully-explored regions in Kalimdor, my little tree joined the ranks of fabled adventurers who strike out for new regions with nothing but a fresh pair of socks and a towel. Just like Marco Polo, Arthur Dent, the crew of the USS Enterprise and Dora, she boldly strode into the great wilderness to earn her title!
After I got Swift Flight Form and Cold-Weather Flying way back when, Northrend and Outland were a breeze. I used wowwiki.com as a reference when I was having trouble finding little pockets of regions and just flew over everything. The “Old World” areas were a bit more difficult. I liked starting at the top – Eversong Woods (reached by flying to Light’s Hope Chapel in Eastern Plaguelands) for Eastern Kingdoms and Teldrassil for Darnassus – and working my way down as much as my spare “exploring time” allowed. Then with happy music playing in the background I would joyfully romp throughout Azeroth on my Black War Bear discovering to my heart’s content.
I’m not really sure why, but this is one of those achievements I feel great pride in having accomplished. Later I took Tazha to the Ironforge Hall of Explorers for a celebratory pole dance – less dirty than it sounds. I do love watching her spin…
